Library Hours

Library hours are 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. each school day. Students are welcome to use the library and check out library books within these hours.
During class periods, students must bring an official Library Pass from their teacher. Regular hall passes cannot be accepted as permission to use the library.
Outside of class periods, students must present their school ID card.
Teachers reserving the library for their class period have priority and will decide if other students may come in during their reserved time periods.

DO finish or store all food and drinks before you enter the library. Reusable bottles with tops and water bottles with tops are the only beverage containers allowed out in the library. Please report a spill immediately.
DO find a chair. If there are no seats left, the library is full and you must leave and come another time. Avoid hovering around full tables.
DO feel free to use any of the desktop computers to work on homework, research, personal use, or even appropriate games. However, students needing the computer for school work will have priority and library staff may ask you to log off to allow another student to use the computer.
DO pick up any trash you see, even if it isn’t yours. The library is a special place where students should feel free to work, relax, or collaborate. Keep it clean and calming.
DO leave everything the way it was when you arrived. Push in your chairs, straighten up your space, and return any textbooks to the circulation desk or textbook shelf. Stop by the check-out desk to check out any books you want to take with you.
DO silence all devices and use headphones to listen to any audio.
DO limit your phone use to school work and quiet activity. Actual calls should be made outside the library. Groups who are causing a disturbance will be asked to take it outside. If sharing videos for a class project, headphones must be used.
DO behave with respect to others, the library materials and furnishings, and library staff.

Students must present their current school ID card when checking out library books.
Students may have a maximum of three books checked out at any given time.
Fiction and non-fiction books loan for a three-week period. Graphic novels and manga loan for a one-week period.
All late books must be renewed before checking out new materials. If a book is lost, a replacement copy or replacement cost must be submitted in order to clear. Overdue library books may prohibit students from participating in school-related extra-curricular activities such as dances and senior activities.
Novels being read as a class are checked out through the Textbook Room. Textbook Room is open only before school, during nutrition and lunch.
Students are responsible for the care and preservation of all instructional materials checked out to them.

Class time in the library must be reserved to avoid conflicts with other classes and events. Teachers may reserve the library by stopping by the circulation desk with specific dates and class periods desired.
At teacher’s request, relevant materials from the collection may be pulled and placed on a cart for student use.
Classes using the library with a teacher will have priority over students coming individually during class periods.
Copies of current reading lists are very helpful in assuring the library has some or all available for your students.
Please notify the library of any upcoming assignments which will require library research. With notification, we can avoid student frustration by providing more informed help or by placing limited resources on reserve.
