FAFSA

Hello Senior Students and Families,

As part of the BUSD graduation requirement, all seniors must complete the FAFSA, CADAA, or Opt Out Form. Students who complete the FAFSA or CADAA application may be eligible for financial aid for post-secondary education. Burbank Unified has partnered with CCGI, or California College Guidance Initiatives to support students in completing their FAFSA applications. Additionally, CCGI will also be used to support students in filling out college applications for CSUs, UCs, Private schools, Community Colleges, and more! This is a great resource to explore post-secondary pathways. More information about using this resource can be found here

Starting this week, on Wednesday October 1, students will need to launch their FAFSA/CADAA application through their CCGI account.  Students can access their account through Clever. Once logged in, students will follow the instructions on the CCGI website to launch and submit their application.

If students have already started their FAFSA or CADAA application through a different platform, they can still launch through CCGI prior to submitting. Students will have until MARCH 2, 2026, to launch their application.

Students who do not complete the FAFSA, CADAA,  or Opt Out Form will be placed on the OFF-GRAD list and may not be eligible to walk during graduation.

Please see attached instructions on how to utilize the CCGI platform to complete the FAFSA or CADDA application. Opt Out Forms can be returned to the counseling office.

Thank you,
Jessica Palaski (she/her)
Assistant Principal of Guidance and Special Education
