- Please write the student's name on a piece of paper.
- TEXT your student to come to the front door and see Ms. Rosen in order to pick up their items.
3. Do not drop off money under any circumstances.
ITEMS ARE LEFT FOR STUDENTS AT YOUR DISCRETION.
WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST ITEMS.
Lunch Delivery Policy
In an effort to keep our campus safe, JBHS DOES NOT ACCEPT lunch delivery services. This includes DoorDash, Postmates, Uber Eats, Friends. This policy prohibits deliveries at the front door and at all other locations on campus. Delivered items will be held in Student Services, when possible, or discarded.
Visitor Policy
The safety and security of all students and staff at John Burroughs High School remain our highest priority. To maintain a secure campus environment, it is essential that school administration--and any individual or classroom expecting a visitor--be informed in advance of all campus guests. The administration must be aware of who is on campus at all times and reserves the right to deny entry to any visitor. The following visitor procedures will be strictly enforced:
CLOSED CAMPUS
John Burroughs High School is designated as a closed campus. Accordingly, all students are required to remain on school premises for the duration of the regularly scheduled school day, including the lunch period. Students in grades 11 and 12 may be eligible to obtain an off-campus Lunch Pass; however, this requires submission of a separate application and formal approval by the Student Services Office. It is a violation of school policy and applicable law for any individual to remove a student from campus during school hours without prior authorization from an appropriate school official.
VISITOR POLICY, SIGN IN, AND VERIFICATION
The school administration is responsible for overseeing the participation of volunteers and visitors, and for ensuring that their presence does not cause undue disruption to the instructional program. Additionally, it is essential that the involvement of volunteers and visitors does not compromise the safety or security of students, staff, or the visitors themselves.
ALL CAMPUS VISITORS MUST:
- Sign in with the receptionist (main entrance on Clark Avenue) and receive a visitor's badge.
- Wear a visitor's badge at all times while on campus.
- Present a valid form of ID and provide all requested information (e.g. visitor's name, date, time, and purpose of visit). This is for the safety of students and staff, as well as the individual, in case of emergency. Failure to provide information will be grounds for denial of access.
- Specify the purpose of the visit and the destination. Request an appointment for a visitation date if there is no appointment scheduled. All visits must be arranged in advance. No visitor can be guaranteed entry to the campus on a specific date and time.
- Return the visitor's badge and sign out when exiting campus.
IMPORTANT GUIDELINES FOR ALL VISITORS
To ensure a safe and productive environment, all visitors must adhere to the following rules while on campus:
- The staff member or student you are visiting must be present on campus that day and aware of your visit.
- Visitors must be escorted at all times by designated school personnel.
- Do not interfere with any school activities. Visitation is a privilege, not a right.
- Enter and exit classrooms or offices quietly during instructional time.
- While classes are in session, do not engage in conversations with students, teachers, or instructional aides unless explicitly permitted.
⚠️ Failure to follow these procedures may result in denial of entry and/or restriction from future visits. ⚠️
